Biografie
As one half of British electronic duo SpectraSoul, David Kennett helped shape a signature sound in modern drum & bass, releasing three albums and touring globally for over a decade. Now launching his solo chapter as Nixxy Rain, he brings a more instinctive, personal take on the genre, rooted in deep musicality, warm atmospheres, and the liquid foundations that first defined his sound.
Since emerging as Nixxy Rain, he has quickly built momentum with a series of releases. His music has landed on influential labels including Hospital Records and Galacy, alongside a remix for Spearhead Records. The releases have received strong DJ support from leading figures in soulful drum & bass such as Hybrid Minds, DJ Marky, London Elektricity, and Technimatic.
In October 2025, he joined Hybrid Minds on tour support, further cementing his presence in contemporary liquid drum & bass. His solo work has also received recognition, including BBC Introducing West naming his remix of Son & Dia Day’s Nothing Lasts Forever ‘Earworm Track of the Week’ in December 2025.
Alongside collaborations with key labels, he is developing his own platform through Nixxy Rain Music, releasing a growing catalogue including two singles and an EP. With the forthcoming Momentum EP set to land on the imprint, Nixxy Rain continues to explore a deeper, melodic, and emotionally resonant take on drum & bass, balancing club energy with introspective, late-night atmosphere.
